The 4.0 does have a slightly better sound to it when turned on but what does that mean? I don’t really see any major improvements with the extra 1,000 RPMs but maybe. Does this translate to better performance and worth a higher price tag? Meh, not really as both trim body hair just fine and never really bog down. The Manscaped (7,000) runs a full 1,000 rpm higher than the Meridian (6,000). The motor speed also needs to be mentioned here in the performance section. If you plan on using this on other parts of your body the wider trimming head of the Meridian is better suited for this as well. The wider trimmer head also makes trimming hair on other areas of the body better and will take far less time than using The Lawn Mower. I like the wider trimming head, it is only 1/4″ inch wider but feels a lot bigger and looks quite a bit bigger too. The only advantage I think goes to Meridian is that is lighter in weight but still performs roughly the same.Īlso, the fact that the Meridian Trimmer has a wider trimming head which I appreciate. They both do not bog down when trimming hair, they both just consistently “mow” through hair without hesitation. Speaking strictly about performance here both of these pubic hair trimmers do trim hair pretty darn well. Performance reviews aren’t the be all and end all. Managers should follow up with employees on criticism, and help provide solutions to any problem areas. Comments in appraisals should be evidenced with events and behaviors, not personality traits. It is possible to create a reviews process that is truly productive. Either employees are unaware of how to improve, or they are so conscious of their faults that they lose motivation altogether. This leads to a reviews process that does more harm than good. An annual performance review may assess employees based on work they completed 6 months ago. A simplistic rating on performance does not give a clear picture of how we can improve. On top of this, performance reviews are often designed in less-than-constructive ways. Others give out negative feedback carelessly – without thinking how it might impact on employee motivation. Many managers and leaders would rather avoid hard truths altogether than give honest, evidence-based reviews. This is probably because giving genuinely constructive feedback is tough. In 2022, it’s ok to mix metal finishes in kitchen remodels and home projects. But this doesn't change the end of my argument as I am talking of experience and understanding. Instead, I think, it only sends the signals to the operating system (through the driver in some cases) as if it was one, so from a 2k mouse the opsys would only get movement after every 5 units in either way (not considering any internal workings to improve performance and precision here), so the opsys sees it as a technically 400DPI mouse in the end. You might be right about the DPI part, it would be easier to just send the signals to the PC as if it was said looking at the surface and it is thus more logical to build one, so I guess you are right about that the mouse doesn't actually work as a 400DPI mouse when you switch to 400DPI. A lot of wanna-be pro silvers put their mouse to low DPI and then when they snipe (if I'm correct, max sensitivity is 1 there, not sure), they couldn't aim at someone's head from Dust2 pit to A site because they would literally just jump over it. ![]() ![]() TL DR: Not placebo, high polling and large DPI make it smoother ingame, just adjust ingame sens accordingly.Īctually, it did when I last checked. Also, if you have a good mouse that has the option to change polling time (the interval at which the operating system asks for data from the mouse, uses CPU), then increase it (it's usually in Hz, so 1/interval is your unit). Ofc, you would need to switch back after the game to be comfortable. It would only feel minimally different (because of the minimum turn distance), but would be the same for large movements. The best would be to max your mouse out (or at least go 2k or above) and then decrease ingame sensitivity. This in game means you turn X degrees in the specific way (calculated somehow) If it's 800DPI, the mouse can update twice in that exact distance, so your turns will be smoother (your minimum turn degrees will be halved, so you can aim more precisely). If it's 400DPI, it senses 400 dots every inch you move, which means that after every 1/400", the mouse updates that you moved 1 "unit", which is then interpreted by the computer. Nicholas Anderson The Classical Reviewer 7th November 2014 Julian and Jiaxin Lloyd Webber reveal, in their often intimate approach, so many of Vivaldi’s beauties on their new release from Naxos All is sympathetically complemented by the strings of the European Union Chamber Orchestra. Lloyd Webber ends the programme with his arrangement of Milonga, from Astor Piazzolla’s Concerto for Bandoneon and Guitar. Their intonation is well-nigh impeccable and their warmly coloured timbre a constant delight. Lloyd Webber’s wife, Jiaxin, plays second cello both musicians articulate lightly and with pleasingly sharp definition. Otherwise, Lloyd Webber has arranged for two cellos Vivaldi’s Concerto for two mandolins, RV 532 for two horns, RV 539 for oboe and bassoon, RV 545 for cello and bassoon, RV 409 and a recently discovered Concerto for violin (or oboe) and cello, RV 812. The only work here in its original scoring is the well-known Concerto for two cellos and strings, RV 531. ![]() The results are convincing – you may be surprised at how idiomatic these pieces sound in their freshly conceived colours. Giving much thought to the propriety of his arrangements, Lloyd Webber has explored both tonal and register issues. Vivaldi was no exception to this practice, but these adaptations are not by him but by cellist Julian Lloyd Webber. It is sad if this is to be Julian Lloyd Webber’s last record but if it is, he is signing off in some style.ĭavid R Dunsmore BBC Music Magazine December 2014 Vivaldi Concertos for Two CellosĪ Baroque composer’s stock-in-trade was to adapt music for particular resources. Perhaps not to be taken in one sitting but a couple of the concertos at a time. This is undoubtedly a successful disc which will appeal to many, especially at Naxos price. The plaintive melody is well suited to the cello and as throughout the playing is first class: a most effective and original way to end this disc. To say that this is a contrast to what’s come before is an understatement. The final item is an arrangement of a Milonga (tango dance) from Piazzolla’s Concerto for Bandoneon - a type of concertina - and Guitar. This was originally written for violin and the arrangement for two cellos again works well even if the piece is not as distinguished as some of the others here. RV812 was only discovered less than ten years ago. The lullaby nature of the middle movement is very touching articulated by restrained playing and sympathetic accompaniment. This is a delightful piece with the cellos’ imitation of hunting calls in the outer movements. RV539 was originally conceived for two horns. The arrangement from oboe to bassoon is seamless and again showcases the fine playing of the soloists those who listen to the countless versions of the Four Seasons should definitely give this a listen. RV545 is a most appealing work with the first movement originally destined for the instrumentation in a cantata. The finale showcases Lloyd Webber’s expertise on the instrument and signposts the way for Haydn’s concerto a generation later. Fortunately RV409, originally written for one cello follows and this is an exciting piece with changes of tempo in the middle movement. RV531 follows which is the only one originally written for two cellos and was at a lower level of inspiration than the first piece. The success of an arrangement is surely not to feel the instrumentation is incorrect and this is the case here. The playing, throughout, is very accomplished and sensitive and very well captured by the engineers. If one had doubts as to arranging the distinctive sound of mandolins to cellos then these are dispelled immediately. The disc begins with RV532 and this sets the high standard for what is to come. The disc has an added distinction, as sadly it will be Julian Lloyd Webber’s last recording due to a neck injury. It was delightful therefore to receive this disc for review and to have my original very positive impression endorsed. I had the good fortune to hear the first concerto RV532, arranged from one for two mandolins, on Radio 3 and was very impressed.
